One of the 25 Best Scotch Whiskies to drink in 2010 Wine Enthusiast Magazine, May 2010

This is a blend of malt whiskies, with an emphasis on 8 year old Islay malt. Out of the cask the colour is of pale straw, accentuated in this blend to the colour of fine old amontillado sherry. The immediate impression is of creosote and tar, with a definite hint of autumn bonfires of withered leaves, the dying embers perhaps revisited the day after. The rich smokiness does justice to the ethnic origins of this blend and will not disappoint.

From WhiskyIsrael:

Nose: A lot of peat, quite peppery, liquorice, with a lot of sweetness underneath, which backs it up.

Palate: Sweet avalanche of peat smoke, spice, cinnamon with a good measure of malty backbone.

Finish: Dry peat smoke, with fruity notes. Cocoa powder too on the longish finish.

So how was it? Nice, not ultra complex but very enjoyable. Nice peat and fruit chocolate combo, for a good price.

Score: 84/100
